About Fattys Silver Spring Location

Fattys Silver Spring opened in 2015, bringing the shop’s award-winning tattoo and piercing services to Maryland. The shop is only 2 blocks from the Silver Spring Red Line Metro. Street parking and nearby garage parking are also available — it’s the most accessible Fattys location for clients coming from Maryland suburbs including Takoma Park, Wheaton, Bethesda, and Rockville.

The Silver Spring location offers custom tattoo services for adults and body piercing services for adults and minors (under 18). All services are by appointment only. Piercing appointments and tattoo requests can be booked online at fattystattoos.com/book-now.

All our body artists undergo health and safety training including blood-borne cross contamination prevention training. Our studios are cleaned regularly and our workstations are disinfected after each body art procedure.

Custom Tattoos

Fattys features award-winning artists who create unique custom tattoo designs for every individual. Our artists specialize in a wide range of styles including fine line, realism, micro, Japanese, biomechanical, tribal, blackwork, traditional, neo-traditional, illustrative, watercolor, geometric, lettering, and many more. There is no “pick em and stick em” flash on our walls, only original art created by us.

Piercing Services for Adults at Silver Spring

Many of our piercers are APP members and all of our piercers practice APP standards. Fattys Silver Spring offers a full range of body piercing services for adults (18 and older). Our piercers specialize in precision placement and use high-quality body jewelry for every procedure. Adult piercing categories available at this location:

• Ear piercings: earlobe, helix, conch, tragus, anti-tragus, rook, daith, forward helix, faux rook, industrial, orbital, snug, flats
• Nose and facial piercings: nostril, septum, bridge, eyebrow, rhino, mantis
• Oral piercings: tongue, lip, medusa, monroe, madonna, ashley, vertical labret, jestrum, smiley
• Torso piercings: navel, nipple
• Surface piercings: dermal/surface anchor, surface bar
• Genital piercings: a full range of male and female genital piercings are available

Minor Piercing Services at Silver Spring

All three Fattys locations offer piercing services for minors, but our Silver Spring location has the most extensive piercing service selection for clients under 18. Age requirements by piercing type at this location:

• Ages 6+: Earlobe piercings
• Ages 13+: Helix, conch, nostril, septum, tragus, rook, eyebrow, flats
• Ages 16+: Forward helix, anti-tragus, faux rook, navel, lip piercings

A parent or legal guardian must accompany the minor. Parent must present a valid government-issued photo ID for themselves AND their minor child AND child’s birth certificate.

Body Jewelry

Fattys Tattoos & Piercings has the largest selection of body jewelry in the Washington DC metropolitan area, hands down! We are proud to offer only the highest quality body jewelry available to our customers. Many of the pieces we sell can only be found at Fattys in the DMV. All of our barbells are internally threaded and have a mirror polish. All our Captive Bead Rings are fully annealed and also have a mirror polish. All of the titanium and niobium jewelry we carry meets the ASTM medical implant grade standards. All of the jewelry we sell is guaranteed by our manufacturers for life.
